I heard they just started PS3 production but I don't think they stopped PS2 production and they probably won't until after Christmas I would imagine.

Baka ninjens. Its all ps3. why keep making ps2 when nobody is going to buy it. now that people know about the ps3 they're gonna focus thier money on that instead you morons!

I think that as new video game systems have always done this as a pattern...when a new system is released...they finish up about 1 to 1 1/2 years of the system games released on both the new and old system and then eventually die out on that system. So from now on...they may just get rid of PS2 game in general to force ppl to buy PS3. However, if they want to be clever about this...they can then release games on both systems because both of the systems can play PS2 games....but instead they can give PS3 games more additional bonuses than PS2! Now there's a thought.

Sony didn't end production on the PS1 until earlier this year. So, I doubt they will stop making the PS2 anytime soon. They'll most likely drop the price though, to give people a cheaper alternative to the PS3 that still results in money for Sony.
The games on the other hand, will probably stop coming out in the next year or two. That's just because the game developers are finishing up games they started before the PS3 came out and then they'll switch to making PS3 games.
