Nintendo Revolution Specs - Rumored
According to "Han_Solo", a source that almost nailed the Xbox 360 specs before they were released, the Nintendo Revolution will compete a bit more mightily with both the Xbox 360 and Sony Playstation 3 than previously thought. According to a post on the g4tv.com forums, though this unit might be on par with Xbox360, the PS3 could have an edge in the CPU area. In the GPU area, the Revolution seems to beat the Playstation S3, and would technically match the Xbox 360.
CPU
Processor: (1) IBM Custom PowerPC 2.5 GHz dual-threaded
Cache: 256 KB L1 cache, 1 MB of L2 cache (an L3 cache is rumored)
13 billion dot product operations per second
Revolution memory
512 MB of 700 MHz 1T-SRAM
Revolution GPU
Core: ATI Custom based RN520 core (the "N" stands for Nintendo, and is apparently because the ArtX team is with them)
GPU core at 600 MHz
Resolution: Support up to 2048x1268 pixels
HD support: Still being decided
Memory: 256 MB of 1T-SRAM (the RAM is supposedly better due to some "tweaking" compared to GC’s RAM. The latency, around 1.2 ns on average, and cells are much more efficient and faster).
Pipelines: 32 parallel floating-point dynamically scheduled shader pipelines.
Polygon Performance: 500 million triangles per second theoretical, average in-game would be <100 million/sec
Shader Performance: ~50 billion shader operations per second

Revolution will support a PPU chip (Physical Processing Chip). There will be 32 MB of its own RAM, which will link to the CPU and GPU and the controller.
There will also be a separate sound card that will support only DD 5.1 - DTS 7.1 (rumor has it with 16 MB, like the Nintendo Cube DSP)
Whether these specs come to pass as well (or closely at least) remains to be seen - but we can at least have fun bringing you the info as it becomes available.

Hmmm....  I still say PS3 is the best station out (or soon to be out). All those other stations are PS wanna-beez.

The PS3 won't go down in price anytime soon. The X360 has yet to go down in price, and it's almost been a year since it was out. But, anything is possible.

I remember when people were looking at specs they were like...Nintendo won't do anything with the Revolution...when it was first called the Wii...ppl were like...excuse me I got to wee wee making any joke at the system. Now based on prices....they all like the system. So far...I think this it, pick the Wii for now...wait for Sony to loosen the price and some bugs and your g2g
