Xbox 360 compared to PS3?

ok so i work with a man who thinks that the 360 is the best, it does now have an update to make it 108p fyi for all you. All of ps3's games are going to be made for xbox 360 as well except for the one game, resistence. but sony does bring a better looking all around system that is going to make the 360 look like a blurry photoshopped piece of crap done by some amateur. oh and um i must say the ps2 only had like, tribes and gta(while it was ps2 only) going for it. and nobody had tribes. people were obsessed with halo, and rightly so. it was a good game, however the 360 is replacing halo with gears of war from what i hear. that game only takes 5 hours to beat, i want something i can play for a good 15 hours without getting bored. plus halo 2 sucked, it looked great but the game all around sucked. halo 1 ws so much moe fun to play multiplayer with system link, it made it so you would actually set up times with your friends to sit for hours and game all day long, where xbox live was ridiculously expensive when it first came out(sony's inet play is free always) and you could just log on when you only had like 30 mins to play, and then go back to school. lets just face it ps3 is going to be awesome, but i guess that makes me a "raging liberal" to even say that.
