The PS3 will be able to play PS2 and PS1 games but wont have any slots for the PS2 memory cards and i dont think u will be able to play dvd's on the Ps3 because of the Blu-Ray Player inside the PS3.

You're stupid. Blu-Ray players are fully backwards capatible. It'll be able to play DVDs and CDs. Also, all you have to do to transfer data is connect your PS3 to you PS2 and transfer the data on your memory stick. You are officially mentally retarded.

The Blu-ray is a blue laser, which reads faster than the current red lasers used with dvd and hd-dvd discs? Blu-ray also holds up to a total of 50 GB, that's a hard drive in a disc! Do you realize how big games could get and how long they would last? Now I know some people don't care about the 50 GBs held inside a blu-ray disc, but just realize the potential you would be getting in games, movie combo packs all on one disc, and better graphics for games because all those polygons do need alot of memory to consume more of them. Also, the PS3 is an added benefit to graphics with it's 2.1 teraflops floating point processor added along with alot of internal memory in the blu-ray discs. Movies, games, and graphics will all improove with more memory. Better yet, you could only use 30 or less of the 50 GBs on a blu-ray disc and use the rest of the memory for loading and faster pixelation processes. It reads faster, has more memory, is more technologicaly advanced than anything out right now, and the benifets will be big.

Blu-Ray is more than a laser, it's an entire optical drive. Both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD use blue lasers. A single layered Blu-Ray disc holds 25GB. The double layered discs hold 50GB. They're actually developing an 8-layered Blu-Ray discs that can hold up to 200GB. Blu-Ray also has a scratch resistent coating that makes it unscratchable. It's really good stuff. Blu-Ray and the PS3 will rule!!!!

Well for about $100 more I'd say go fot the 60gb... it's not much more for the upgrade.
It has:
Built-in flash card reader
Built-in Wi-Fi connectivity
HDMI port
Silver coloured logo and trip.... pretty!

the thing about the blue ray discs...Will anyone really take advantage of all that extra space? as it is now most games don't use up an entire dvd.

SCEA will. Everytime they release a game it takes up 2 discs or more.
(ex: final fantasy, paracite eve, & many others)

As far as I know, no games have used multiple DVDs. I’m not sure why that is; it seems like it should be just as easy as using multiple CDs.

Final Fantasy and Parasite Eve are Squaresoft/Square Enix games, not SCEA
